Park Holidays have revealed that Great Yarmouth has been revealed as their NUMBER ONE autumn / winter coastal staycation destination.
UK Holiday and and holiday home specialists, Park Holidays, surveyed 2,000 UK adults about their seaside staycation plans for the next 12 months.
Just less than three quarters of Brits have said they are planning an autumn/winter staycation, with September, 22 per cent, and October 2020, 23 per cent, found to be the months when Brits were most likely to book a coastal staycation over the next year.
UK Director for Park Holidays Tony Clish said: “Following the doom and gloom at the start of the year, it’s great to see the increase in uptake when it comes to domestic getaways in 2020, with families, friends, couples and solo-travellers exploring the beauty that’s on our doorstep – even as the colder months creep in.
“Luckily, the British coastline is gorgeous all year round, and from fish and chips to long walks along the sands, there’s plenty on offer for those that visit.
“We’ve seen great demand across all of our parks for staycations throughout 2020 and in to 2021, so much so that we’ve recently extended the opening hours in some of our parks to accommodate those looking for a cosy, autumn/winter getaway.”
“The beautiful resort town of Great Yarmouth is renowned for its long, sandy, and super clean beaches. In our research it scored highly as a great autumn/winter staycation destination, earning first place! Contributing factors included its 40 fish & chip shops, low rainfall (averaging just 66.9mm in November), and high number of sunshine hours (averaging 76 hours in November).”
